Enhanced Stein Pyrolysis Unit (ESPU)

The Future of Waste, Energy, and Carbon Recovery

The Enhanced Stein Pyrolysis Unit (ESPU) is a breakthrough in waste-to-energy and carbon recovery technology. It combines advanced pyrolysis, catalytic cracking, and emission recovery systems to convert complex waste streams into clean fuels, reusable materials, and captured carbon. From Sustainable Aviation Fuel to hydrocarbon-to-water reforming, the ESPU redefines what waste technology can achieve.

What the ESPU Delivers

Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)

The ESPU converts plastics, tires, and Refuse Derived Fuel (RDF) into high-value, low-carbon transport fuels. Using continuous catalytic cracking and hydrogenation, the process produces stable, energy-dense fuels that meet aviation standards while minimizing carbon intensity.

Hydrogen and Water Reforming

Steam generated by the process is used to reform water, producing clean hydrogen with 99% purity. This hydrogen is reinjected into the catalytic system to upgrade liquid fuels, enhance cracking efficiency, and improve overall carbon conversion.

Hydrocarbon-to-Water Reforming

Residual hydrocarbons are reformed at high temperature in the presence of oxygen and recovered hydrogen. Through controlled oxidation and synthesis reactions, the hydrocarbons are converted into water (H₂O) and CO₂. The CO₂ is then captured, leaving behind pure water and reclaimable carbon compounds. This unique reaction pathway allows waste hydrocarbons to be transformed into clean water and usable energy by-products.

CO₂, NOₓ, and SOₓ Recovery

The ESPU integrates a Hot Potassium Carbonate (HPC) absorption system that captures and processes industrial and power-plant flue gases. The system recovers CO₂, nitrogen oxides, and sulfur oxides, converting them into potassium sulfate and potassium nitrate crystals. These products have high market value as agricultural fertilizers and industrial reagents.

Beyond Waste-to-Energy

The ESPU also processes and neutralizes materials that conventional systems cannot:

  • Recycles solar panels and wind turbine blades, separating carbon, glass, and polymer fractions.
  • Destroys asbestos at over 700°C, vitrifying the fibers into inert, glass-like minerals.
  • Operates with zero landfill output, producing no dioxins or furans at any stage.

The result is a complete environmental solution—a clean, circular technology that unites waste elimination, carbon recovery, and fuel production in one integrated platform.
